Where DomainSnip fits
DomainSnip brings the auctions and buy-now listings on GoDaddy, Dynadot and Namecheap into one search. Filter by keyword, extension, length, price, bids and auction end time, hide names with numbers or hyphens, and sort by estimated value, price, time left or newest.
Save domains to a watchlist, turn any keyword search into an alert, and get new matches in one daily email. Use the MCP server to search from a compatible AI assistant. Every listing links to the marketplace, so you buy at the marketplace's price.
Questions
- What is DomainSnip?
- DomainSnip is a domain auction and aftermarket search tool with a web app and an MCP server for AI assistants. It aggregates GoDaddy, Dynadot and Namecheap auctions and buy-now listings for .com, .net, .org, .io, .ai and .co. You buy or bid directly on the marketplace.
- Is DomainSnip free, and what does Pro cost?
- Visitors can preview up to 10 keyword matches on the homepage without a subscription. Signed-in free accounts can also search through MCP with up to 10 results and no pagination. DomainSnip Pro costs $9.99 USD per month for full web search, a watchlist and daily keyword alerts, plus paginated MCP search and exact-domain lookup. Domain purchases and marketplace fees are separate.
- Does DomainSnip offer an MCP server for AI assistants?
- Yes. DomainSnip offers an authenticated Model Context Protocol (MCP) server at https://www.domainsnip.com/mcp. Compatible clients such as Claude, ChatGPT and Codex can search GoDaddy, Dynadot and Namecheap listings. Sign in and approve access: free accounts receive up to 10 results per search without pagination and can manage a watchlist through MCP; Pro adds paginated search, exact-domain lookup and creation of daily keyword alerts. Client support depends on the app's plan and settings.
- Does DomainSnip have a public REST API?
- DomainSnip offers programmatic access through its MCP server. It does not currently offer a general public REST API. MCP clients use the remote HTTP endpoint and authenticate with a DomainSnip account.
- How fresh are DomainSnip listings?
- DomainSnip imports each marketplace daily. Price, bids, domain age and estimated value are shown where supplied by the marketplace. Listings are snapshots of the latest import; confirm availability, price, fees and auction end time on the marketplace before buying or bidding. Saved keyword alerts are combined into one daily email digest.
- Does DomainSnip provide SEO metrics or register domains?
- DomainSnip searches existing marketplace listings. It does not register, sell or transfer domains, place bids, or generate new domain names. It does not provide backlink metrics, spam scores, Wayback analysis, pending-delete lists or CSV export.
- Who is DomainSnip for?
- People buying a domain for a brand, a product or an investment who want to find good names quickly. If you buy expired domains mainly for their SEO metrics, one of the specialist research tools compared here may suit you better.
- Does DomainSnip sell domains?
- No. Every listing links to the marketplace where it's for sale, and you bid or buy there at the marketplace's price. DomainSnip never holds or marks up a domain.
- How are these comparisons put together?
- We use each tool's public website and pricing, say where another tool is the better fit, and show the date each page was last reviewed. Prices and features change, so confirm the details on the other tool's site before you decide.
